History
1976
After making soil buckets, vibrating tines and soil breakers, Adrien Van de Walle starts as a dealer of tractors and agricultural machinery.
1978 – 1985
Production of the first successful product: the silage cutter with spade, soon followed by the silage cutter with cutting chain.
Recruitment of the first member of staff: Erwin Willems.
Start of feeders with unloading auger.
In 1985, the workshop becomes too small and we move to number 7 in the same street.
Conversion from sole proprietorship to BVBA.
Purchase of plate shears and bending bench.
1995
The mixing buckets get bigger and bigger, this evolves into a 5m³ self-unloading mixing wagon that unloads with a silage cutter.
Son Andy joins the business.
1996-2002
VDW continues to develop its existing machinery around forage ensilage, mixing and distribution. The first seedbed combinations leave the factory. Straw and beet processing machines join the range, as do machines for wheel loaders and telescopic loaders, which now also find their way into agriculture.
2003
VDW construction is being taken over by Erwin Willems and Andy Van de Walle. Erwin has been with the company since 1979 and knows it like no other.
2007
VDW is the first to develop the vertical mixing bucket, a concept derived from vertical mixers. A machine that is carried by a tractor or telehandler and can therefore also self-harvest.
2008
30th anniversary celebration. Open-door weekend attracting 2,500 visitors. A success!
Purchase of the first 3D drawing programme.
Start of our regular exports to Germany, carried out by Schmihing
2009
Relocation of the company to its current 8000 m² site located in Kapellestraat (Chapelstreet).
VDW wins prizes at Agribex fair. ‘The silver hoof’’ for our straw mill is a fact.
Purchase of a large high-definition plasma cutter (2.5 x 14 m).
Development of silage spreaders.
2010
Switching to treating the machines with 2-component paints. An automated paint-mixing system was purchased for this purpose to always maintain the correct proportions….
2012
Purchase of 2 additional overhead cranes in the workshop.
Expansion of the 3D drawing programme around a PDM (data Management) system, to make it easier to keep up with the ever-faster developments and various bespoke works.
Purchase of a 2nd plasma cutter.
Development of the ‘Pomm-over’, a cleaning unit with conveyor belt that can be mounted to a push-off trailer.
2014 -2018
Further expansion of our infrastructure with a welding robot, CNC lathe, CNC milling machine and additional bending bench. A rail system was installed from the spray booth, which extends well into the assembly. From this hang all the sprayed parts, which can be pulled up to the right machine.
Patent application for a Beet cleaner/cutter, which will eventually be named ‘BRS Axial’.
Further expansion of the range emerges in the form of the Beddingmaster “Profi”, a sawdust bucket mixer that can also handle more solid products. To offer contractors an alternative to the silage spreader, we also have a Silage fork developed, the GTM.
VDW starts a collaboration with the firms Ogimat, for smooth exports to France.
2019
Purchase of a laser cutter to offer even better quality.
Once again VDW wins prizes at the Agribex-fair.
Winning “The silver hoof award” for the 2nd time, this time for the new straw blowers DUOCompact and DUOPower
2021
Purchase of new bending bench with angle readout
For the 3rd time since VDW was founded, we return back from the Agribex-fair with the “The Silver Hoof award” . The winning ticket was for the Cleaner Tiger Quatro , our latest stationary cleaner/cutter.
2022
Purchase new milling machine with 3m x 0.8m reach
2023
